Today everyone is in such a busy space where time is sacrificed for everyone and everything but time. We make no time to rest, sleep (deeply), meditate, digest or even breathe! Yes, I said breathe – the proper way of breathing from the bottom of your diaphragm. Media and technology are overwhelming intrusive; TV marketing campaigns are forced down our throats every 10 minutes. I’m not even going to get into social media platforms. What do we do to unplug and remove ourselves for just a moment? How do we partition parts of our time where we can just RELAX?
Well, I’ll tell you how I do it. I have downloaded meditation/relaxation apps onto my computers and mobile devices. Some apps come with reminders and schedules that let you know when to and that allow me to shut it down. Turn off the external noise and take a moment to breathe and relax. Relaxing helps to stimulate the mind, ignite creativity and release tension. There are so many other benefits you get from relaxing. I just wanted to name a few.
Now, my challenge for you is to prioritize your day so that you can get resting time out of your day. Remember, it doesn’t have to be a whole hour; it can be five to ten minutes where you just take time to breathe and focus on the air coming into your body and releasing it out through your mouth. Take the challenge and see what it does for you. I did and it’s great.
