Invision beyond what you see.
Grasp beyond what you feel.
Interpret beyond what you hear.
Ingest beyond what you taste.
Inhale beyond what you smell.
INSIGHT: This poem was created on April 14, 2019. In this piece, I wanted to explore how people receive information. The reality we all view is skewed through our own lenses. We see information and process things from where we are. I remember years ago; I was having a conversation with one of my siblings. We were discussing a childhood memory. It got a bit contentious when neither of us could agree on the details of how and what exactly happened.
Has this ever happened to you? Have you ever gone over something you remembered so vividly, and others tell you their version of what happened? Or even tell you the way you remembered was way off? Right!
I’ve learned through the years that my truth is my truth. My story is my story. Just because someone doesn’t remember all the details and pick up the pieces in the way I did, doesn’t matter. We don’t have to see things the way other people see them. It doesn’t take away from the experience you experienced. Period.
One of my ultimate challenges in life is to become a great listener! I want to be able to see things objectively. I challenge everyone that visit my page, to challenge your senses and go a bit further in the way you process information. What are your influences? Are you looking at a situation based on your experience and how you feel or are you processing information fluently and unbiasedly?
